Fr. Ihar Labacevich, priest at St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, and I have started planning the program to co-lead a pilgrimage tour to Minsk, Belarus, Vilnius, Lithuania and Kyiv, Ukraine in late summer 2015. These places are Fr. Ihar’s native lands. We are including Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, because it was a hub of Belarusian intellectual life between the World wars.
Promotions about this pilgrimage have been attempting to build awareness for humanitarian effort to help Fr. Ihar’s Uncle Siarhei. Past newsletters have introduced his situation. A wheelchair has been donated for his Uncle Siarhei’s needs. We are currently investigating options on how to send it.
Our plans are moving forward with sensitivity to the situation in Ukraine. Please follow the release of information in upcoming newsletters as we make decisions for travel, or view the Upcoming Tours page for more information.
