St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church

Minneapolis, MN

“The meaning of the icon is threefold- 1. That the world was created good, and must be loved. 2. That the Incarnation, Christ, assumed human nature through which He affirmed the intrinsic value of the whole world. 3. That salvation embraces all of created matter, as well as human body and soul. So, the entire world is an icon painted before all ages of the Holy Spirit. This icon is never fully destroyed. Our aim is to reveal this image in our hearts and to reflect it in the WORLD.”
– Fr. Ihar Labacevich, priest at St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church
